paper planes

For two weeks during April we prepared for our english CST using giant test prep booklets.  After, I let each class get out their aggression.  This was the result:

extra credit

Dear student concerned about your grade,

If you are looking for some extra credit I have an assignment for you.  To stay in touch over the summer (and hopefully beyond that) I would like you to create a blog yourself.  After creating your blog (using any blog site) you must also do the following:

  1. Make a few "meaningful" posts before the last day of class (June 11). A few usually means 3 or more. Consider writing about your final project, this class, this year in general at sjha, your summer plans, or what you are looking forward to your senior year.
  2. "Follow" my blog.
  3. Make sure I have your link so I can "follow" your blog.
  4. Make a verbal promise to me to continue blogging until your heart's content.

That's it.  Free and easy points.  Be creative and have fun with it.  Good luck with your final draft of your research paper and your final technology project!

opening act

For my first blog I thought it would be cool to post the opener from "Anonymous", the recent sjha spring show:

There is a time and place for everything. A time for believing. A place for hiding your fears. A time for growing up. A place for the child within to stay safe. A time for letting go. A place for preserving hope. The most difficult part is being yourself.

Secrets are made for many reasons. To hide the pain people have caused you, for the sadness you feel. Secrets are there to help you cope when no one else can. Secrets are there to help us with our fears. Secrets can be hurtful or helpful. They can make you realize good or bad qualities about yourself. Secrets can either pick you up at the hardest of times or put you down. Secrets can help you see things you never cared to notice before. Secrets about friends, relationships, family, even yourself. Secrets are a great way of expressing yourself, or getting something off your chest that you always wanted to. Secrets can be a great method of therapy to relieve your mind and heart of the pain.

You could write anything you want without being judged or have someone mock you. You might even find what you thought was your own weird secret a normal thing among other people! But, don’t take it from me, take it from the hundreds of other people who posted secrets to us, from the people who entrusted their most personal thoughts and feelings with us.  Who knows, maybe you too will share a secret. After all, there’s nothing to fear. It’s anonymous.

and yes... Anonymous 2 is already in the works.  More to come on that.
